Yesterday was our one year wedding anniversary, and of course, as the fantastic husband I am, I had to by my lovley wife some roses!

@Eric Cousineau: Thanks Eric! I have a second rose picture tomorrow, one that I my self think is a bit better (the one today has a disturbing element in the back, with a little bit of halos around it).

congratulations. lovely roses and nice, warm colours. i've been wondering, what are those halos from? i have them on several of my photos, even when they seem sharp, e.g., around shapes of birds

@Linda: Thank you Linda! I can't explain the technical terms about halos for you, but I can tell you why and how you get them. It happens when you use to much contrast on your image (play around with curves, sharpening, etc in photoshop). So to put it short, it is a product of overworking your image, trying to get information from your image that is not there.
